Selection is based on 400 marks in total: a 360-mark written exam and a 40-mark interview. The final merit list is made from these 400 marks.
| Stage | Details | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Written Exam | 120 multiple-choice questions, 2 hours | 360 |
| Interview | For candidates shortlisted on written exam marks | 40 |
| Total | 400 |
The exam district will be shown on the website 10 days before the exam, and the admit card can be downloaded 3 days before. You may be given any centre, and a change of centre is not allowed. If you sit at a different centre, your answer sheet will not be checked.
Shortlisted candidates will be told the date, time and place at least 10 days ahead. You must bring an affidavit in the Appendix-3 format, plus two sets of self-attested copies of your documents, with originals for checking. Documents are checked at this stage. If you do not bring the originals, the interview will not be held.
If candidates have equal marks, the order is: written exam marks, then interview marks, then Master's degree percentage, then B.Ed. (or B.P.Ed.) marks. If all of these are equal, the older candidate ranks higher.
Cut-off and marks will be shown on the Commission's website after the process ends. School allotment is done by the Director, Secondary Education, U.P., Prayagraj.
