Pay particular attention to the post preference, teacher-training qualification, TET details and reservation category. The preference submitted for the two school categories cannot simply be changed after the prescribed application period, so it should be selected only after checking eligibility for both options.
UPESSC will hold a written examination for Assistant Teacher Selection Examination 2026. The paper will contain 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 360 marks, and candidates will get 2 hours to complete it.
The written examination score will be used for preparing merit. Where the examination is held in multiple shifts, UPESSC will apply its prescribed normalization procedure before preparing the result.
If candidates secure equal merit, graduation percentage will be considered first. If the tie remains, marks in the prescribed teacher-training qualification will be compared. Where all these remain equal, the older candidate will receive preference in the merit order.
After the written examination, candidates shortlisted on merit will be called for document verification. At this stage, the Commission will verify the qualification, teacher-training certificate, TET certificate, age, category and other claims made in the online form.
Final selection will depend on the written examination merit and successful verification of the candidate's eligibility and documents. Merely appearing in the written examination does not establish eligibility for appointment.
